Even though the technology initiatives are for the IT Work stream to roll out and support, the Change Manager must know what’s planned so as to inform their Change Leads when any enquiries on the impact to staff are raised.
Staff will see any IT initiatives as being part of the change program so it is important to know what is going on and how well IT are tracking in delivery. It should not be the focus to run the IT change program, but knowing what is impacting staff now is important for consideration in a change program of what the IT Work stream are delivering on.
Skype for Business and other initiatives can be national roll outs and although the office (who is undertaking the move) can get in the front of the line, they still may be one of many recipients in this roll out.

The Project Director will oversee the development of the change and communication program that will run all the way through the accommodation project.
The Project Director will have oversight of the information extracted from the business during stakeholder requirements gathering and cutting through general information to find that information that is of high value to meet the objectives of the project.
It is important to remember there can be personal agendas and turf grabs during fit out projects and inadvertently somethings may be exaggerated by stakeholders during the stakeholder requirements gathering if it is perceived there can be a better result for a business unit or team delivered.
To keep things on a level playing field, it is important to make sure that the PCG, Project Sponsor, and the executive leadership teams endorse the nominations of their business unit representatives and that the message is clear that their contribution is for the greater good of the organization, therefore reminding everyone why this project is happening and repeating any messages from the CEO on what the project objectives aim to deliver.

This is extremely important so that they can understand and plan the best way to support these initiatives.
The IT Work stream will assess the suitability of the project teams’ participation based on current technical needs. They will also coordinate training providing the project team with the opportunity to get enthusiastic, and ask questions.
In this course, you will gain an understanding of how the Change Manager and the IT Work stream will work together to assess the suitability of the project teams’ participation as an early adopter of incoming or upgraded technology.

Technology in a workplace project, is a part of a very large and detailed project. It is important that all stakeholders feel that the IT team really know and understand their requirements and the tools available to the business.
Detailed IT discovery including business unit requirement gathering and diagnostic questions to change leads is a vital part to getting the Technology component of the project right.
During the accommodation project, the IT work stream will undertake discovery work across the business. This discovery work may highlight that there are a number of staff that have requirements that may fix them to a workspace or that there may need to be a work around for.
In this course, you will gain an understanding of the IT Work stream who are responsible for running tests and looking for high end computer users before the relocation, the IT project teams’ mandate, and inputs and outputs.

Having an organized approach to the physical move (relocation) is critical in getting the project over the line. Communication, is vital.
The Change Manager will help coordinate meetings, confirm bookings and manage a host of last minute questions from suppliers and stakeholders.
The Relocation Project Manager will hold a master scheduling document to track key activities of all work streams, of which IT testing and their input in the physical move will be included.
In this course, you will gain an understanding of the key activities for the IT Work stream during the physical move.

The change/communications role in a relocation project may be combined or separate depending on the project structure and size of the relocating business.
This role is responsible for communicating information about the relocation to the business. Whether this role is held by one or two people, they will sit on the relocation committee.
A change manager will be a project-focused role and key to the success of the overall project. They will concentrate on the people-related changes in the project, creating and implementing strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and minimize resistance to the impending change.
A communications manager will be responsible for conveying the businesses internal and external messages, both in a business as usual and project related sense. They will ensure that employees are aware of changes and projects occurring within the business.
In this course, you will gain an understanding of the projects business case, the master change documents to be developed, the Change managers involvement and many more important deliverables, activities and considerations.
